Pitch Introduction
Bullspree Shark Tank India appearance marked a watershed moment for fintech education startups in the country. The founders presented their innovative gamification platform that transforms complex stock market learning into an engaging fantasy gaming experience. This unique approach to financial literacy immediately captured the attention of the sharks, particularly Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal, who recognized the massive potential in making trading education accessible to Tier 2 and Tier 3 city users. The pitch demonstrated how experiential learning could bridge the gap between theoretical financial knowledge and practical market exposure without the associated risks of capital loss.
Business Overview
Bullspree operates as a mobile-first gaming application that offers fantasy stock market contests to users seeking financial education. The platform allows participants to create virtual portfolios using real-time stock prices and compete against other players in time-bound contests. Unlike traditional trading platforms, Bullspree eliminates financial risk entirely while maintaining the adrenaline rush of market movements. Users pay a small entry fee to join contests, and winners receive cash prizes based on portfolio performance.
The company addresses a critical market gap where aspiring investors want to learn stock market dynamics but fear losing money during the learning phase. By gamifying the experience with leaderboards, rankings, and social competition, Bullspree makes financial education addictive and engaging. The target demographic primarily includes college students aged 18-25 and young professionals entering the workforce who have disposable income but lack investment confidence.

Shark’s and Founder’s QnA
Aman Gupta: Why did you make me your mascot in the presentation?
Dharmil: Actually you said we will also make you, so we decided to feature you.
Namita Thapar: Tell us your story. How did you three come together?
Dharmil: I completed Industrial Engineering in 2016, then joined an e-commerce company where I got promoted to the CEO Office within one and a half years. When we did our initial funding round, that same CEO invested a small amount in us.
Harsh: Dharmil and I met in 2016 as flatmates in Mumbai for the first time.
Divyansh: My story with Dharmil is very unique. We met during a train journey called Jagriti Yatra that happens every year with 500 entrepreneurs.
Namita: You mentioned Jhumaritaliya?
Divyansh: Yes, it is a small town called Jhumaritaliya in Jharkhand. I completed my B.Tech from IIT Delhi and worked at two startups where I was leading teams of 20-25 people.
Peyush Bansal: Do you handle all the development yourself?
Divyansh: Yes absolutely. I look after the entire tech stack. We have built the frontend on Flutter and use Node.js for the backend.
Peyush Bansal: Will Flutter not have scaling issues as the application gets more complex?
Divyansh: Actually in new applications, we have seen people preferring Flutter more, so we took that decision.
Anupam Mittal: Is anyone else doing this?
Dharmil: Yes sir, there are many companies. StockGro is there and countless others.
Anupam Mittal: What is your differentiation from StockGro?
Dharmil: StockGro is positioning itself more on the social investing side where the adrenaline rush is missing because it involves virtual money. We provide that rush very well because users pay a joining fee to participate.
Anupam Mittal: How much have they raised?
Dharmil: They have raised around $32 million.
Vineeta Singh: How will you compete with such well-funded competitors?
Dharmil: We raised ₹2 crores in September 2021 at a valuation of ₹12.5 crores, and then in February 2022 we raised ₹1 crore at a valuation of ₹26.5 crores post-money. Currently we are at a ₹50 crore valuation request.
Vineeta Singh: What is your current monthly revenue?
Dharmil: In February 2022 our monthly revenue was only ₹1.5 lakhs. But last month our total turnover was ₹23 lakhs and our revenue was ₹8.5 lakhs.
Vineeta Singh: What magic did you do?
Dharmil: We did tie-ups with many colleges through events and campus ambassador programs. We collaborated with financial market and gaming influencers.
Vineeta Singh: What is your marketing cost and CAC?
Dharmil: Our CAC per user is ₹2. Our average revenue per paid user was ₹100 in February, which grew to ₹322 by July.
Anupam Mittal: What is your retention rate?
Dharmil: Our D60 retention is 7-8%.
Anupam Mittal: That is incredible. Not possible.
Aman Gupta: Can people not play this on other gaming apps?
Dharmil: The major focus of other players is on gameplay. Our larger vision is that whenever you are a customer of Bullspree, whenever you graduate out of here after around two years, you will have learned everything.
Anupam Mittal: You are not building Bullspree University or Stock Market University right? Basically gaming learning is attracting people. Put money, make immediate money. Today if Dream11 thinks they need to teach everyone cricket, that is the wrong direction.
Aman Gupta: How much cash do you have in the bank right now?
Dharmil: We have 5 months of runway remaining.
Aman Gupta: What is your monthly burn?
Dharmil: ₹18 lakhs per month.
Peyush Bansal: How big can this business become?
Dharmil: If I get 2 crore users in the next 36 months, I will get ₹1 crore daily revenue, which becomes ₹200 crores yearly revenue.
Aman Gupta: Despite the competition, I have confidence in you guys. I will invest at your last round valuation of ₹26.5 crores. The deal is ₹75 lakhs for 2.86% equity. Can Peyush join me?
Peyush Bansal: I have some questions but I will join you Aman. We will split it 50-50.
Dharmil: Can we make a counter offer?
Aman Gupta: No counter offers. This is a hero or zero business. You should not think so much. The sharks together will kill this deal.

Business Potential and TAM
The total addressable market for financial education and fantasy gaming in India presents a multi-billion dollar opportunity. With over 100 million demat accounts in India and growing retail participation in equity markets, the need for risk-free learning platforms continues to expand exponentially. The founders projected that capturing just 2 crore users could generate ₹200 crores in annual revenue through contest fees and premium subscriptions.
The platform specifically targets the gap between financial literacy and market participation. While competitors focus either on pure investment or pure gaming, Bullspree occupies the unique intersection that appeals to Gen Z users who prefer learning through gamified experiences rather than traditional educational content.
- Target demographic includes 50 million+ college students and young professionals
- Expansion potential into derivatives, commodities, and cryptocurrency education
- B2B opportunities for corporate financial wellness programs

Bullspree Post-Show Update
Following their appearance on Shark Tank India Season 2, Bullspree leveraged the publicity to expand their college partnership program significantly. The company signed a sponsorship agreement with Rendezvous 2023 at IIT Delhi, serving as the Associate Sponsor for the Shark Tank segment and Title Sponsor for BRCA Events. This collaboration provided them exposure to premium engineering talent and potential users. The app continues to grow its user base through strategic college fests and financial literacy workshops across Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Business Analysis & Lessons
The Bullspree pitch illustrates several critical lessons for entrepreneurs entering crowded markets. First, while differentiation is essential, admitting when a product category faces commoditization shows maturity but may concern investors seeking moats. The founders demonstrated strong execution capabilities with impressive CAC metrics and retention rates, proving product-market fit despite limited resources.
However, the pitch highlighted the challenges of competing against well-funded incumbants who have raised $30+ million. The sharks emphasized that in winner-takes-all markets, timing matters significantly, and entering late requires either technological superiority or distribution advantages that are difficult to replicate. The ultimate deal at previous round valuation suggests that while the business shows promise, competitive pressures warranted a conservative approach.
- Low CAC through organic channels indicates strong product appeal
- High retention rates suggest genuine user engagement beyond novelty
- Competition from funded players creates customer acquisition challenges
- Pivoting from pure gaming to education may confuse positioning
Pitch Conclusion
Bullspree Shark Tank India journey demonstrates that even in saturated markets, execution excellence and capital efficiency can attract premium investors. The combination of Aman Gupta’s consumer brand expertise and Peyush Bansal’s technology acumen provides the strategic guidance needed to scale beyond the initial college demographic. For aspiring fintech entrepreneurs, this pitch serves as a case study in balancing growth ambitions with realistic competitive assessments while maintaining the agility to pivot based on market feedback.
